The Myers Briggs Test, often known as the MBTI test, is a personality test that focuses on vital personality characteristics, such as strengths, weaknesses, likes, dislikes, work preferences, compatibility and career expectations. The Myers Briggs Test is one of the most well-known personality type tests that identify the different personality traits of an individual in the work environment. This personality type test, however, does not evaluate aspects such as abnormality or dysfunction.
Myers Briggs Test is a personality test that measures an individual’s personality on four types of scales: Extroversion – Introversion, Thinking – Feeling, Sensing – Intuition, Judging – Perceiving. The combinations of these personality traits result in 16 personality types. The Myers Briggs Test can help understand an individual’s preferences and behaviors, predict performance, and match an individual to his/her most compatible job role.
Personality assessments, as the name implies, gauge an individual’s positive and dark personality traits. Personality assessments are modeled after two broad schools of thought – trait theory and type theory. Type-based personality assessments characterize people according to certain qualitatively distinctive categories. These are more suitable for personal use. Trait-based personality assessments view personality as a function of multiple traits and measure the degree to which each trait is present in individuals. They are used for high-stake decisions in workplace settings.
