Psychometric reliability is an essential component of psychometric tests and refers to the extent to which scores are consistent across multiple instances of testing, numerous test editions, or multiple raters grading the participant’s responses. High psychometric reliability means that the scores are precise, consistent and can be recreated on multiple occasions.

Psychometric reliability refers to the ability of a test to produce similar results under consistent circumstances, which means a test is reliable if it produces similar results over time, repeated administration, or similar conditions. The four types of psychometric reliability are inter-method or parallel forms reliability, internal consistency reliability, inter-rater reliability, and test-retest reliability.
