Each employer has specific benchmark candidates need to meet or exceed to be hired. For example, it's a standard observation for a person to have a typing speed of 40 WPM. But what stands out in the recruiter's mind is a speedier than usual performance with high accuracy. So, better it would be for candidates if they aim for at least 60 WPM with precision.

For example, a person with a typing speed of 50 WPM and two average errors per minute will appeal more to the recruiter than one with a typing speed of 80 WPM and a tendency to commit many mistakes. That said, employers often consider the KPH (Keystrokes per hour) score of 8,000 as an average for many data entry jobs. However, candidates can distinguish themselves from others by performing above the average score, for example, 10,000 KPH.
